Located in the heart of the Castro District in San Francisco, was asked to design a center for arts and activism. In the midst of a dense, urban fabric, the need for urban agriculture & education as well as resources for those facing hunger & food insecurity is a great need. In order to address these needs, a connection between the center’s various programs--production, gathering, and administration--as well as a central driving force of daylighting for green spaces, help provide a comprehensive space, serving its purpose of highlighting the art of agriculture and the advocating for those facing food insecurity.
